General information

The NAMA-Café is an initiative that’s looking for mitigation and adaptation for the climate change in the coffee section, provide the low sections in the gas emissions that create an greenhouse effect, finding a way to reduce environmental damage, generated by the coffee production to encourage adaptation of modern technology and better ways of production, pretended to rise the efficiency of small producers and from processing plants in Costa Rica, contributes to the improving quality of the producers family’s lives through the compatibility from the coffee section.

This initiative frames inside of the Framework Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE), the Coffee Institution of Costa Rica (ICAFE) and Fundecooperación para el Desarrollo Sostenible, a foundation with a lot of experience in the execution of projects at a local level or small and medium national producers of sustainable products.
